"Delivery used to be a lot faster"
I don’t know what changed, but deliveries used to be much more reliable. This order was late again, and I didn’t get any updates along the way, which made it frustrating

"Pretty good value overall"
I ended up buying from progear.co.nz after comparing a few different sites, and the price was one of the better ones I found. I’m a bit picky about feeling like I’m getting my money’s worth, but this felt fair to me. Shipping wasn’t super quick, though it wasn’t a problem either. Overall I was happy with it, and I’d probably buy from them again if the price still looked good.

I had a good experience with progear.co.nz. I wasn’t totally sure what gear I needed, and yeah, I was kind of expecting the usual vague advice, but the staff actually knew their stuff. They helped me figure it out without making me feel awkward or clueless, which I appreciated. The only thing is it took a bit longer to get a reply than I would’ve liked... but overall, really helpful and definitely a solid 4 stars from me.

"Well packed, though the box took a knock"
I ordered from progear.co.nz and, to be fair, the packaging was solid. The item was wrapped properly and there was plenty of padding inside, so it definitely didn’t feel like it had just been tossed in there.

The only thing was that one corner of the box had a small dent when it arrived. Guessing it had a bit of a rough ride somewhere along the way, since the actual item inside was totally fine and nothing was damaged.

Overall, I’d give it 4 stars. It arrived safe and tidy enough, just not quite perfect-looking on the outside when it got to me

I ordered one item, but they sent me something completely different. Mistakes happen, but it’s frustrating when you’re waiting for the thing you actually paid for and end up with the wrong product. It definitely makes me trust the ordering process a lot less, and I’m not sure I’d feel confident buying from them again.

I figured it would be straightforward, but I kept running into the same issues. I couldn’t find what I was looking for, and every page seemed to take forever to load. After a while, I just assumed the whole site was going to be a hassle.

For some reason, I was expecting the replies to come a little faster. They did get back to my messages, so it wasn’t a big issue, but the updates took longer than I would’ve liked. Overall, it was fine, just not super quick.

A few of the things I needed were in stock, but a couple of items I actually went there for weren’t available, which was frustrating. On top of that, it felt like some of the products had been handled carelessly, so the whole experience was a bit disappointing.

The return itself was easy, so no complaints there. The refund just took longer than I expected. It’s hard to describe exactly, but it kind of felt like I was left waiting a bit too long after everything else went smoothly.

"Pretty good help with my warranty claim"
I had a problem with a lens I bought, so I reached out to Progear about the warranty. It did take a couple of days before I heard anything back, which was a little annoying, especially when you’re just kind of waiting and wondering if your message disappeared somewhere. But once they got back to me, they were actually really helpful. They asked for a few photos and my proof of purchase, the usual kind of stuff, and after that they got everything sorted without too much hassle. Overall I’m happy with how it turned out. I do wish the first reply had been a bit quicker, but the support itself was solid

"Decent selection, but I still end up comparing elsewhere"
Progear has a solid range, especially if you're looking for camera gear and related accessories. The site is easy enough to browse, and I did find a few good options. That said, I kept comparing it to other gear shops and noticed some items I was looking for were either missing or had way fewer choices. The prices are okay too, but not really the kind where I’d stop looking around immediately. Overall, it’s a fine place to check, but I’d like it more if they had better stock and a bit more variety.

"Really poor help when I actually needed it"
I had a frustrating experience with Progear’s customer service, it left a bad impression on me. I emailed them about an issue with my order, and it felt like I was waiting forever just to get a proper response.
When they finally did reply, I got the feeling they hadn’t really read my message. I had to explain the same thing more than once, and even after that, I still didn’t get a clear answer or feel like anyone was really trying to help.
Maybe other people have had better luck, and maybe the products themselves are fine, but based on my experience, the support was just not worth the hassle. I personally wouldn’t buy from them again unless I really had no other option.
